July 03, 2009

My greatest memory of last year’s Machine Shop Workshop is how the event seemed to inspire a new level of excitement and energy for so many of the participants. I hope you’ve been able to put to use some of the ideas you heard at last year’s event.

The next Machine Shop Workshop has been postponed until April 2010. We plan to stage it in Cleveland, Ohio and I’m inviting you to join us again.

For the upcoming 2010 event, we’ve incorporated suggestions that you and other participants provided. Based on that input, we’ve made the following adjustments:

·       We are relocating the event to Cleveland, a more centralized location.
·       We are planning the theme for the 2010 conference, one that reflects the shift in management strategy from penetrating foreign markets to upgrading machinists’ skills to diversification for business value - lowering costs, reducing legal and business risk, improving productivity and efficiency, and generating new revenue-generating opportunities.
·       We are increasing the number of peers you’ll hear from, and recruited more of our “Best Machine Shops” winners to provide their expertise.

The workshop sessions will reflect the imaginative ways that our peers are building management solutions to deliver tremendous value across virtually every line of business in the industry. We will use the event to name the newest “Best Machine Shops” honorees; and we promise to keep you well fed throughout.

Keep it here for more details.
If you have any questions about next year’s event, contact us at aminfo@penton.com.

I hope to see you at the workshop!
